The Healdsburg Animal Shelter first opened its doors in March of 1960 as a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to the welfare of the homeless, stray and unwanted animals of the town of Healdsburg. We typically handle about 600 animals each year, both stray animals and surrendered pets whose owners either no longer want them, or are unable to keep them.
